Apologies all - there was a bad setting for most folks on the
main@mbarc.groups.io list, now fixed. Ed emailed this out on Sunday,
but apparently most folks didn't receive it.

Hi all,

It's the second week of the month. This is inviting you to the
MBARC December General meeting on Zoom. (see below) We hope to
make this another good general get together type of meeting.

So, continuing with Zoom. We have the usual reports. And we will
up-date you on other ACS groups in the county. This is the Christmas
meeting. But sorry, we never organized a dinner meeting, I guess, due
to Covid. So, I'm thinking we can make this a short and lightweight
Zoom meeting.

With no main speaker, our main topic will be a discussion of the
idea of running a digital net from Constitution. We'll probably
continue next week at the digital meeting, if necessary.

I believe there was some Field Day equipment maintenance to do.

Some repeater work that's been done, and some repeater work to do.
Mainly, Constitution UHF.

And we may have some new web site stuff to show. I'm new to
groups.io and not sure about the mailing list myself. So, we should
discuss that also. I'll try sending it with groups. But, maybe also
the old way one more time (If it doesn't seem to work).

Then maybe we can answer some questions about classes, testing, and
radio operation. I hope to try to answer more help questions from new
hams, and anyone else. We could even discuss a real meeting at the
Maker Space.

I'd like to remind everyone the our yearly dues are about up for
renewal and we can discuss our new structure.

Testing. We need someone to be the lead organizer.

The usual "For Sale" virtual table. Get anything you have, ready
to show. I usually start this early in the meeting so there's time to
think. The list of old equipment from last summer is still available,
and I have it.

Again, I think most of the meeting will be a chance to see
everybody again, and get caught up on any news.

Here is the invitation to the meeting, I hope to see you there.
It's a new ID and Passcode again. Maybe we can make a permanent one
soon. It will be recorded, and I'll send a link for downloading it
later.

You will be on mute when you first join the meeting. In the bottom
left corner of the Zoom window is the on/off buttons for the
microphone and video. Click the video on, and the mic. when you are
ready to say something.

Welcome to the MBARC "main" list

Steve Stroh N8GNJ

All:

This is the list that MBARC will use for announcements of upcoming
meetings and other events.

Thanks for your interest in Mount Baker Amateur Radio Club and getting
signed up on this list. There are now 106 of us on this list (with
5-10 not yet confirmed thus they may drop out).

(In the most recent membership list maintained by the MBARC Treasurer,
there were 89 names, including 5-10 that don't have email addresses on
file with MBARC).

A couple of admin issues:
* A new account on any groups.io list requires you to confirm that you
WANT to be on a new list. Until you do so, you won't receive (or be
able to send) any email from / to this list. (groups.io isn't clear on
what you can or cannot do if you don't confirm.)
* By default, anything you send to the list as a new member is
initially moderated. This is an anti-spam measure. There are only
three of us that can "approve" your posting and remove the moderation
status, so if you don't see something you sent, please be patient -
one of the three of us will approve your email and thus remove the
moderation.

Our next MBARC General Meeting will be on Tuesday December 14, 2021
beginning at 19:00. Look for an announcement from President Ed AE7QD
closer to that date with the meeting link and agenda.

Reminder about MBARC 2022 dues.

MBARC does have ongoing expenses that we depend on membership dues to
cover. Expenses include:
* Repeater site rental
* Repeater maintenance / upgrades
* P.O. Box
* Groups.io fees (new - this mailing list / website)
* Field Day
* Cookies, coffee, and door prizes for in-person meetings

Please go to the https://mbarc.groups.io/g/main/wiki/28514 page to
download MBARC membership form to send in with your dues payment. If
you have questions about dues, you can email:
treasurer@mbarc.org

This is the raw video from the November 2021 MBARC Digital Group Meeting.

https://youtu.be/-1R1mkEsjuM

Of special note in this video you will hear a discussion of the new Raspberry Pi OS: "Bullseye" and how it affects the Ham Radio Apps on our Nexus DR-X Digital Radio Crosspatch project. Also we talk about various ham radios that work well for digital radio. (Data! not Digital Voice Radio) This video is unlisted but feel free to share this URL with anyone you think may be interested.

Hello Joseph,

I do not have a TN-D710GA, but I have a similar TN-V71A. What is the nature of your problem?

Joseph:

You were apparently a victim of an issue the Board has identified that we don’t have a good way of consistently reaching all members of MBARC.

The meeting was recorded.

Thanks,

Steve
